x To those who don't know about Twelve Kingdoms, at first sight (like the promotional material) it appears like typical reverse harem show/novel where the ordinary high school student travels to another world and is catered by a pretty men squad before returning to her world. That's far from reality. There's no romance (and if there is some hints, that handsome grey rat is the closest to a love interest but not quite), nobody fawns over Youko or falls in love with her (nor she's romantically interested in anyone). It's focused on her painful journey and character development from a two faced spineless coward who wants to please everyone to an enlightened ruler who forges her own path.
x Because she's novel based, anime only Asano doesn't exist and Sugimoto is just someone she shunned when she was peer pressured by her classmates. She goes alone to her journey and Rakushun is her first and best friend.
